Mat Squillante
Owner
Mat leads Squillante Studios.
His branding, communication
and conceptual skills were
honed during five years as the
Monterey Bay Aquarium’s
Senior Designer. He was responsible for rebranding
the organization for its 20-year anniversary and
implementing the “Living Blue World” theme
through-out the organization. Mat’s ideas and
concepts formed the core of what was recognized
as one of the World’s top 100 brands in 2006. (Rebrand100).
In 2007, Mat brought his skills and experience to
Ashton Abeck, a leading design firm located in San
Francisco’s financial district.
As Senior Designer, he developed branding
strategies for a range of technology and financial
clients. In particular, he led the team that
rebranded JonesTrading, a national investment
company. Mat has devised creative strategies for
Oracle, Navia Systems, Safeway, the Coral Reef
Alliance and the Headland Center for the Arts.
Mat is a graduate of Wheaton College in Norton,
Massachusetts, the University of California, Santa
Cruz and has studied at Rhode Island School
of Design. He also holds a masters degree in
scientific illustration.
