Capturing The Drama

US Forest Service 2008 Fire Siege Report

2008, A Year Ablaze

2008 was a year of fire in California. Over 1,750
state-wide fires burned more than 1.2 million acres
and claimed the lives of 13 firefighters. The U.S.
Forest Service engaged Squillante Studios to tell
their story, unique in California’s modern fire
fighting history. Our approach focused on balancing

vast amounts of data with a wealth of compelling
imagery in this 150+ page document. Working within
the Forest Service brand standards, Squillante Studios
developed an in-depth and engaging narrative of 365
days spent battling some of the worst forest fires
California has ever seen.
